With the main residence occupying a spectacular waterfront location, extremely difficult access made the construction of a new boathouse / guest residence a very challenging project. The existing boathouse had been badly damaged by a king tide and termites thus requiring a complete replacement. All materials in & out of the project were handled by barge or boat. The boathouse features a kitchenette, a small bathroom and plenty of storage. Many components of the original boathouse were restored and integrated into different parts of the design for the new structure.
